Rev Alisha Fung
Rev Alisha is currently on parental leave and will return in late June.
Born and raised in Canada, Alisha has always had a heart for those on the edges of society, working with people with disabilities both in Canada and China. When she moved to Melbourne in 2018, she deepened her call through ‘spiritual care’ and became a chaplain with Uniting AgeWell. She continues to bring her care for the marginalized into the life and worship of Pilgrim, cultivating spaces of welcome for LGBTIQA+ folk and seeking to walk justly alongside the First Peoples of this land.
Her worship style, and her very nature, draws on awe and wonder, contemplative practice, and progressive theology, while remaining firmly grounded in the transforming Good News of Christ.
Alisha loves playing guitar and often brings modern music—or a fresh twist on classic hymns—into the worship experience. She’s also an avid dog lover and, on some Sundays, you might even be welcomed by her friendly chocolate Lab.
Alisha holds a Master of Arts of Public and Pastoral Leadership from the Vancouver School of Theology; as well as a Master of Divinity from the University of Divinity.
